My name is Hazem Shahin, I am a medical doctor who is board certified in psychiatry and addiction medicine. Houston Psychiatry Clinic is my private practice. I have over 30 years of experience in practicing medicine, 10 years of those in psychiatry. Over time, I have come to recognize that the mind and body are inseparable, and that meaningful mental health care must consider the whole person rather than symptoms in isolation. Each individual brings a unique combination of experiences, biology, circumstances, and personal values that shapes their emotional well-being and response to treatment. This understanding informs my approach to psychiatry: one grounded in clinical expertise, compassionate listening, and a commitment to developing individualized treatment plans that honor the complexity of each person’s experience and support their path toward lasting well-being.
